Getting Started
If you haven't already, set up your phone with PhotoCopter.
Once you have that set up, snap a few photos. You'll see them in your Email soon.
Set up your Computer if you want to save your photos to your PC or directly to a web album such as Flickr,
Photobucket, Snapfish, or Blogger.
Setting up PhotoCopter on your phone
In order to save photos automatically, set up PhotoCopter for your
phone. If you have never purchased an application from BREW on your phone before, get step by step instructions for your specific phone.
Look for the PhotoCopter application in your BREW Catalog, and
download it.
Now that you have the application, you can set it up!
- Start the application and read over the terms of service.
- If you agree, select "I Agree." What if I decline the terms?
- When prompted, enter your Email address so that PhotoCopter can save your photos to your Email right away!
- Your phone has been set up to save photos to Email.
Receiving photos on your computer from PhotoCopter
Now that you have the phone set up to save photos, you are ready to set up your computer to receive photos! By the way, if you already set up your computer successfully, opening PhotoCopter will show a screen that looks something like this.
- Click on the Start button on your computer, and click on All Programs. Click on PhotoCopter.
- Enter your phone number, area code first.
- Type in a unique name for your computer - something that you'll recognize as your own.
- Press OK - your computer will try to contact your phone.
- Check your phone for a message from PhotoCopter. PhotoCopter wants to protect your pictures and make sure that they only go to the computer that you want - that's why you need to confirm from your phone.
- Make sure that the message on your phone mentions your computer by the name that you specified earlier.
- Press Yes on the phone.
- It may take another minute or so before your computer receives the message from your phone.

Saving photos to Flickr, Photobucket, Snapfish, or Blogger from PhotoCopter
Now that you have the phone set up to save photos, you are ready to set up your online photo album at any of the websites listed above to receive photos! You will need to have set up PhotoCopter for your computer first.
- First download PhotoCopter for your computer from the download page.
- Set up PhotoCopter for your computer - read the setup steps if you need help.
- When PhotoCopter for your computer is set up, open up the program by going to Start, then All Programs, then PhotoCopter.
- On the screen, click on the green plus sign next to the website you want to save photos to.
- If you need assistance setting up a particular site, please refer to these steps.
What if I decline the terms?
If you decline the terms of service, the application will still be on the phone until you Unsubscribe. In order to not be billed for the service, you must remove the application.

User Guide for PhotoCopter on your phone
Remember to save your photo!
In order for PhotoCopter to save your photo, you have to save it onto your phone first.
After taking a picture,
PhotoCopter will take care of everything else.
When you first purchase PhotoCopter from your phone, you will already be set up to save photos to your Email. If you take a lot of pictures, you might consider saving your photos to your computer instead.

Above is the main PhotoCopter screen. The list shows the possible photo destinations for your photos. In the picture above, the user has set up three destinations: her computer, her Email, and Flickr. She can add Blogger by clicking
on the green plus sign next to Blogger. She can also change the settings for any destination that has already been set up. For example, if she wanted to change her Email address, she could click on "Change" next to her Email address.
Tip: After making any changes in your settings, make sure to press OK on the above dialog. That's when your settings get sent to your phone. If PhotoCopter on your phone does not show the same settings as your PC, make sure your PC has
a good internet connection. Try toggling the destination, and then pressing OK.
The PhotoCopter Menu
The menu can be accessed by right-clicking the icon for PhotoCopter, located in your taskbar. The taskbar is usually found in the lower right corner of your screen. The menu has the following options:
- Open My Pictures - opens the folder that stores all your PhotoCopter photos.
- Options - opens up the main PhotoCopter screen.
- Help - opens up PhotoCopter help pages.
- About - opens the PhotoCopter about page.
- Quit - quits PhotoCopter. The application will start again the next time you start up your computer.
Troubleshooting
Couldn't set up my phone or my computer
Typical problems:
- The phone said it couldn't finish set up.
- You may not have enough signal. Try again when you see at least 2 signal bars.
- I entered my Email address to send instructions on how to set up my computer, but I still haven't gotten that Email.
- Check your spam or junk folders for an Email from your phone number. Also, check to make sure you entered your Email address correctly.
- Sometimes certain Email provides may block PhotoCopter Emails. You may want to try an alternate Email address.
- I installed PhotoCopter on my computer, and entered my phone number, but it keeps telling me that there was no response from the phone.
- Check your phone for a message from PhotoCopter about connecting to your computer.
- Make sure your phone has enough signal (at least 2 bars of signal.)
- Check to make sure your computer has an internet connection by opening a web browser.
- Keep that browser open when you try resending the message to your phone.
- Make sure that you entered in the correct phone number, and then retry sending the message.
- It is also possible that the network connection is slow, and that it may take a few minutes for each message to be sent.
Photos are not getting saved to my Email
Things to try:
- Make sure that your Email address is correct. You can check the Email address you set up by opening PhotoCopter on your phone or on your computer.
- Check your junk or spam folders. If the Emails are going there, you should mark the sender as safe, or add it to your address book.
- If all else fails, change your Email address to a different one.
- When you do get Emails, make sure to add PhotoCopter to your list of contacts to ensure delivery.
Photos are not showing up on my computer
Things to try:
- Make sure your computer is on, and connected to the internet.
- Make sure your phone has signal.
- Make sure the icon in the task tray for PhotoCopter looks like this:

Photos are not showing up on my web album (eg. Flickr, Photobucket, Blogger, Snapfish)
Things to try:
- Try uploading a new photo from your computer directly to your web album. If that works, then you know that the web album has not gotten full.
- Check to see that the Email address you entered into PhotoCopter for that web album is the same that is shown on their website. If you do not know how to find the Email upload address for your web album, click here.
- Make sure your phone has signal.
- Open PhotoCopter on your phone and make sure that the settings on your phone match the settings on your PC. Sometimes it takes some time for the settings from your PC to be sent to your phone. If they do not match, try changing a setting from your PC, pressing OK, then changing the setting back to how you wanted it.
- Sometimes web albums take a long time to display photos. They may appear after 24 hours.
